1864-days at Dybbøl Banke
Experience one of the major battles during the war in 1864, when the focus is set on April 18th and the Storming of Dybbøl Banke.
History center Dybbøl Banke is blowing up history!
The fighting is fierce! The cannons roar with a force that can be felt and heard. The powerful palisade is breached by the Prussians, who storm up the rampart with rifle bullets flying around their ears - can the Danes hold out against the attack?
During this year's 1864 Days, the storm at Dybbøl on 18 April 1864 is re-enacted. The great battle is complemented by a demonstration of the cannon and infantry practising their drill and you can meet the soldiers from both sides of the front in the soldiers' camp.
The home front not only offers a break from the fighting, but also a taste of 19th-century cookery and you can see women in dresses of the time.
Can you become a soldier?
The children will be drilled in the soldiers' camp and become soldiers as in 1864.
