In 2025, we will mark the 80th anniversary of the Liberation. This means that 85 years will have passed since the occupation of Denmark. The dramatic story of resistance and bravery still lives on in the streets of Haderslev and is commemorated every year on 9 April with a series of events.

15.00-16.00 ‘9 April walk’
Visit Haderslev Meeting point: Hertug Hans Church, Sønderbro 3, Haderslev. This guided tour has free admission and is first come, first served. Space for 25 people. Must be booked at bureau@visithaderslev.dk.
17.30-19.15 The film ‘9. APRIL’ in Kosmorama 6100
The film 9 April is based on a real event during the German invasion of Denmark on 9 April 1940. This performance has free admission and is first come, first served, must be booked at Kosmorama6100.dk
20.00-21.00 Memorial concert in Haderslev Cathedral
Slesvigske Musikkorps and Haderslev Cathedral Girls' Choir perform music by Carl Nielsen, Tchaikovsky and Frederik Magle. There will be community songs and freedom songs performed by both orchestra and choir. During the concert, a ‘reflection’ will be held by chaplain Jacob Bech Joensen.
