Podcast: ”Excentrikeren fra Aabenraa”

A new podcast tells the story of the artist Franciska Clausen. Through conversations with locals who remember her, Franciska Clausen is brought into the spotlight.

Journalist Catia Schmidt explores in this podcast how people from Aabenraa actually remember the painter Franciska Clausen?

Franciska Clausen was originally born in Aabenraa in 1899 before breaking through the barriers of the art world in Berlin and Paris in the 1920s. Although she was famous abroad, she was never understood in her homeland, Denmark.

When Franciska Clausen returns to Aabenraa, stories circulate that she is a bitter and scorned woman who ends her days as a portrait painter in Aabenraa. But is the story really like that?
