Tranerodde Lighthouse
Beautiful little lighthouse located a few kilometres south of Center Parcs Nordborg Resort and activity pier.
The lighthouse is a 10-meter high iron tower erected in 1906. From the beginning, it was equipped with a lens device and an alcohol burner.
1921 the switch is made from alcohol to acetylene gas and a new burner is installed. The focus height is 12 metres and the character: Iso WRG 2s.
The headland that the lighthouse is intended to protect shipping from is a long shoal with large stones that extends about a kilometre into the Little Belt and the name Traner is derived from the bird species, crane, which until the 1800s was a frequent visitor, breeding in the nearby Tranmose and foraging on Tranmaj.
