Vemmingbund Strand

The beach is located next to Sønderborg Bay and the low water level makes it one of the most child-friendly beaches in the Sønderborg area.

Vemmingbund is an old fishing settlement in the bottom at the bay opposite Dybbøl Banke. Today it is a lovely holiday resort with one of the best beaches in the area. The sandy beach of the bay is a fine and fairly wide beach, which is suitable for children.

Her you can play beach volley and ball, swim, windsurf, sunbathe or sail.

Pets on the beach?
From April to September, dogs must be kept on a lead.

This beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, where in 2022 the zone was active 5 June - 15 September. The pet owners and the four-legged friends can stay on the beach and swim outside the Blue Flag Zone - see pdf under Download.

Dogs and other domestic animals may pass the zone at the back of the beach, but may not stay on the beach or in the water within the zone itself - with the exception of service and guide dogs.

Natura-2000 area
This beach is situated within the Natura-2000 area and the use of PWC´s (Jet-Boats) is NOT permitted. Read more about the rules in force here.
